Antiparos Villa

Antiparos Villa is the first house we have taken on beyond Paros, and the island has shaped it. Where our Ampelas houses are white render on dry stone, this one is quarried stone almost throughout — long low walls of it, laid in courses and left rough, with dark steel openings cut deep into them and slatted timber pergolas carrying the shade.

The plan gathers around water and fire. A twenty-metre pool runs the length of the terrace, and a seating lounge sits sunk below the paving with a firepit at its centre, so the evening has somewhere to go once the sun has left the water. Between them, a covered exterior lounge and dining terrace opens straight out of the kitchen.

Inside, three master suites, each with its own bathroom: two on the ground floor beside the 55 m² kitchen, dining and living space, and a third above, with a living area and kitchenette of its own and a roof terrace under pergolas. A separate guesthouse of 25 m², with its own entrance, sits at the far end of the plan for visitors who would rather come and go on their own hours.
